One of the health goals I’ve set is trying to drink enough water each day. We all know it’s important for so many reasons. Drinking water is one of those things that, in theory, is little effort for big reward (I’m noticing that theme on my blog!). You have to find what works for you in terms of how much. For me right now, ‘enough’ means about two litres. I
completely failed found this really difficult until I made like a baby and got a bottle: a designated only-for-me-and-only-for-water bottle. It was $3 from the dollar section of Target and it’s not an overstatement to say it literally changed my life. It holds about 500 mL so I try to drink at least four bottles per day. Being able to easily track my water consumption (and then recording it in my Fitbit) has made all the difference. My $3 plastic bottle has more than paid for itself, but recently the space between the double walls has begun filling with water so I figured it was time for an upgrade. Enter David’s Tea.
I found this glass bottle for $12. Lucky you, it’s now on sale for $7.20! It holds 16 oz (473 ml) which is perfect for me. I think reusable straws are kind of weird, but since this one is only used by me and only for water (and I wash it regularly) it works great. It’s not double walled but whatever – I won’t be using it for anything hot. I’ve found that having one specific bottle reminds me to drink water and helped form the habit. When I’m drinking enough water I notice a few things: 1) I feel less tired and less hungry 2) my skin is clearer and less dry and 3) I’m the girl asking you where the bathroom is. I’ve also noticed that I feel dehydrated much more easily – if I don’t get enough H20 I really feel it now.
Do you think you drink ‘enough’ water in a day? Do you find it makes a difference either way in how you feel? Maybe you only like water if it’s ice cold? Or room temperature? Or bubbly? Or with a straw? Or with an herbal tea bag in it? I’ve love for you to leave a comment below and tell me your favourite way!
